Volunteer Tech Team Lead
Worship/Tech Ministry
Reports To: Worship/Tech Director
Position Overview:
The Volunteer Tech Team Lead is responsible for overseeing the technical operations of the church, including the Media Tech, Sound Tech, Lighting Tech, Stage Runner, and Camera Tech. This role requires a dedicated leader who can manage a diverse team of volunteers, ensure the seamless integration of technical elements during services and events, and cultivate a collaborative environment within the tech ministry.
Key Responsibilities:
Leadership & Team Management:
- Recruit, train, and mentor volunteers in the various tech roles (Media Tech, Sound Tech, Lighting Tech, Stage Runner, Camera Tech).
- Schedule and coordinate tech volunteers for weekly services, special events, and projects.
- Facilitate regular team meetings to address updates, challenges, and training opportunities.
Technical Oversight:
- Ensure all audio, video, lighting, and staging equipment is operational and meets the needs of worship services and events.
- Oversee the setup and breakdown of tech equipment, ensuring a smooth transition before and after services.
- Collaborate closely with the Worship Ministry to integrate technical elements into the service flow effectively.
Event Support:
- Provide technical support for special events and church functions, ensuring all tech needs are met.
- Troubleshoot any technical issues that arise during services and events.
Maintenance & Improvement:
- Develop and implement maintenance schedules for all technical equipment.
- Stay informed about technological advancements and recommend updates or changes as needed.
Volunteer Development:
- Create a positive and supportive environment for tech volunteers to grow and develop their skills.
- Encourage teamwork and collaboration among tech roles to enhance service quality.
Qualifications:
- Experience in technical production (audio, video, lighting) is preferred.
- Strong leadership and organizational skills with the ability to motivate a team.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- A passion for serving in a church environment and a commitment to the church’s mission and values.
- Availability to work flexible hours, including weekends and evenings as needed.
